homemade pancake

It was another Sunday which means I stayed at home;nay I had food at home sweet home.I' always fond of homemade food.It may not contain topping or whatnot, whereas you feel love in it.I had one of my favourite pancakes on this Sunday. The outer skin was crisp but the inside chewed soft.
Like usual, mom said it wasn't hard to made which I found the flour part a bit complicated. The whole process seemed easy though.

清明时节雨纷纷,
路上行人欲断魂。
借问酒家何处有,
牧童遥指杏花村。

It should have rained yesterday!I don't mean that I like rainy days, but I found it a bit unbearable to have a sunny Qing Ming Jie.Anyway,it didn't bother me going stretching legs with mom. There's a monument in my neighbourhood, which is officially called Monument to the People's Heroes. It's sheerly a education base. When I got there, several floral baskets were already laid.It felt solemn.

How could we Shenzhenese forget about Deng Xiaoping on one of those commemoration days? So there we were--on the top of Lian Hua Shan(Lotus Mountain) to look with reverence to the statue of Deng, which I'd done for heaps of times.I always found it regrettable that Deng passed away the before the day Hongkong came back(July 1st,1997).He must have been delighted.

EXTRA:It just rained outside in Shenzhen.

I got up at 5:40 AM to hike in the Lianhuashan (Lotus Hill) Park/l莲花山 which is loccated right across City hall, not far from my home in Futian.I've been there for thousands of times but barely in the morning so I dragged with my BFF to "see the sunrise".But I broke my promise because it turned out to be too gloomy.

(Many people worked out there just as what I saw at night.)

(The City Hall felt like asleep.)

(I think this statue of Deng Xiaoping is still the best one.)

So that's how I get started the Valentine's Day.Actually I went through sorta a rehearsal yesterday--hanged out with my girl friends, and their boyfriends.Girls would never be loyal to their girl friends when they have boyfriends.Shame on them~But I complain it to them because I may become one of them in the future.Let me use the following china "couple" in my room to wish that all shall be well,Jack shall have Jill.
So goodbye,Valentine's Day.I know you're coming again soon.I'll welcome you in a better way next time.

Take a breath~

10 P.M yesterday,me and my mom finally got back to Shenzhen from Lianyungang.Who would have thought that it would take 15 hours to get home? Our plane was delayed by hours and we missed the chance to hitch a ride.It was totally a hard and long journey, because we,two women, took six suitcases back. After getting back home sweet home,I was too hungry to eat anything while mom was being a neat freak like always--doing housework and washing as soon as we entered the house.

(We had to stay at the airport because of the heavy fog.)
(We were offered unappetizing lunch at the airport.)
(Is there anyone out there questioning that me and mom were super women?)

To be continued......

Well, basically I've been doing two things since my holiday began, one is reading a novel named "The Adventures of Three Tomb Raiders"(Guichuideng/鬼吹灯),the other is teaching myseld Deutsch/German.

"The Adventures of Three Tomb Raiders" is about the experience of several ghouls who earn their lives by robbing graves. It may sound immoral and those plots are totally grisly and quirky, but even people like me,who can be actually scared by the ghosts and gods, don't feel like quiting reading it.Overall the novel is impressive and is worth reading. And I have the tendency to rob some graves like the characters did.

However,my friend who goes to uni in Xi'an,told me that she was not superstitious before but after staying in Xi'an and hearing a lot of unsual rumors, she was kinda freaked out and wasn't not bold enough to read stuff like that.

Looking at the German alphabet at right,I thought it was familiar, actually it was just like English one. But,that's the problem. They are too similar that I confounded with one the other.I figured I'd forget all my English for a while.Well, you cannot get the best of both worlds.
But the silver lining is I'd use International Phonetic Symbols to read German,so that I can review what I picked up last year.

These two workers were so "brave".They did this job without safety precautions. It was so dangerous.I hope no tragic happens during the joyful festival.
People were queuing to buy train tickets. It was always the case during Spring Festival.
Good thing that there was a underwear shop beside, kinda a pastime for those guys.
The "flower market" was back again.Too early,I think.

I forgot to mention that I had dinner at Sarina's home yeasterday. It was the first time I had dinner in foreign friend's home, though we had Chinese food cooked by her Chinese nanny. But I had a very special water over there. It's called Seltzer. It was just pure water but felt like coke when in mouth. She got some sort of mechine to process pure water like that. It's amazing~I want one also.^^

And it's Sunday today.Mom made bao zi again.I don't wannna call it dumplings in English because it's too sweeping.Okay, see what we got first:leaven dough, mushroom, meat, cabbage and steel steamer.

(mom is rolling them)
